A Good Person

“I’m a good person.”

Sometimes I whisper this beneath my breath,

wanting to believe that I bring love and light-

to instil that my existence means something,

at least to someone.

But, what does good mean?

Is it tainted when there’s a dash of darkness?

And how do we measure if it's just a dash?

What if my dash is a disguise of a deluge?

What if it unfolds and consumes me,

carelessly, coarsely?

Or, what if I unload it with vindictiveness,
