Death By Poison

That was so sweet, yet it was so queer
Little did I know that the end was near
It tasted so good I even shed a little tear
And then came face to face with my biggest fear
Captivating to the eyes, a scent so sweet to the nose
I shouldn't have tasted, now I think I overdosed
Vision blurring away, eyes are beginning to close
Why yes, I guess this is the poison I chose.
Life flashing before my eyes, pain from my head to toes
O great heavens, would you receive me if I rose?
Is this really the end? Is the reaper getting close?
But then life is a battle, you either win or lose
